Two-factor authentication

Add another layer of security to your account by requiring a one-time password in addition to your usual sign-in process.

  • When you sign in, you’ll enter your username and password as usual.

  • You’ll be required to enter an additional one-time password generated from an app on your preferred device.

  • Once you enter the one-time password, you’ll be signed into Zepto.

What is 2FA?

Two-factor authentication (2FA) is an electronic authentication method in which a user is granted access to a website or application only after successfully presenting a single-use authentication code received via text message or third party application.

Why?

2FA is used to add an extra layer of security to your account. This is done by adding an extra step to the log-in process, such as a code sent to your phone number or a code generated from an authentication app. This helps verify your identity and prevent any malicious actors from accessing your private information.

How?

2FA is compulsory on all Zepto accounts, whether you're the owner, admin or just a viewer. If you have not set up 2FA, when you log in next you will be prompted to set it up using either an application. Please be mindful that you will need to enter the 6 digit code generated by the application (Authy or Google authenticator) every time you login into your Zepto account.

In your Zepto UI, you can go to Settings > Security and choose if you would like to set it up via an application such as Google Authenticator or Authy.

Setting up using Applications:

  1. Click on the Setup using an app

2. The dashboard should now prompt few Recovery codes, we recommend saving these recovery codes to access your account in the event that you can no longer generate your one-time password.

3. Download the verification applications (Authy, Google authenticator) and scan the bar code. Your application should now generate a 6 digit code for you.

4. Enter the code on the screen as shown below and click on Enable

Your 2FA has now been set up for your account and you are ready to go.
