[AU] Using Zepto Reports Tab To View Your Transactions
[AU] Using Zepto Reports Tab To View Your Transactions

This article describes the features and use cases of the Transactions and Journal reports on a customers dashboard.

Updated over a week ago

Note: This article is relevant to merchants integrating with Zepto in Australia.

The ability to review the history of transactions and being able to see the current status of processing Payments/Debits are important features for Zepto customers. The best way to view all of this information is to utilise the Reports tab on the left-hand side of your Zepto Account.

Transactions

The transactions report is exposed when you click on the Reports tab on the left-hand side of your dashboard. This section of your reports is used to get an overview of each of your transactions. All of your transactions are listed with 25 results per page, and filters can be set to narrow your listed transactions.

Each transaction has the following fields:

Reference
A reference number can be clicked to view more details related to this transaction.

Funds Account

The funds account that was used to initiate this transaction. This could be your Account Float if you have one enabled or the Bank Account you used to register with Zepto.

Category
The type of transaction eg, Payment, Payment Request

Type
Whether this was a Credit or Debit

Created date
The date that this transaction was created

Maturation date
The date that this transaction matured/is set to mature

Status
The current status of the transaction. A list of each status and an explanation of each can be found here.

Counterparty
The other party involved in this transaction

Description
The description that was entered when this transaction was created.

Bank reference
Bank reference numbers are related to both sides of this transaction.

Amount
The amount that was credited/debited in this transaction.

You can download a CSV file of the transactions listed on this page, and you can filter data prior to downloading to refine the results.

Journal

The journal report is located directly underneath the Transactions report and can be used to obtain a more detailed view of each of your transactions. This view will show all details available in the transactions report with a new entry made each time the status of the transaction is changed. This will allow you to look deeper into a transaction's history and pinpoint times when a transaction's status was updated.

The below image gives an example of one transaction having multiple entries. As you can see, each time the transaction's status changes, a new entry is made and all relevant data is recorded and displayed here.

This page also offers the ability to download a CSV of all listed transactions. The CSV downloaded from this page holds more information than the CSV downloaded from the Transactions report.

Clearance Date

The Journal can be used to list all transactions that cleared within a given date range. This is very useful when reconciling your accounts.

  • Select Credit as the Type.

  • Select Credit Cleared as the Changed status.

  • Select a date range for the Status changed date.

  • Click on the Apply Filters button.

  • The Status changed date in the list of transactions below is the date that the transaction cleared into your account.

Downloading CSV files

Both the Transactions report and the Journal report offer the ability to download a CSV file that contains all the currently listed transactions.

If this file is downloaded from the Transactions report, the CSV file will contain exactly the same information that is displayed in the User Interface. We offer this ability to allow you to format and take in this data in whichever way best suits your needs.

However, if this file is downloaded from inside the Journal report, the CSV file will contain a few more fields that aren't viewable in the normal User Interface. The CSV file will also contain columns labelled Contact ID, Counter bank BSB, Counter bank account number, Failure reason, Failure details and two columns to show any custom metadata added when creating the transaction.
